When at the gym, wear something that’s appropriate for working out. There’s really no need to dress like a beauty queen. Wearing the wrong apparel, you might end up not executing your routines properly. Plus you might end up injuring yourself. The following are some pointers on what to wear at the gym.
First, make sure you wear good-quality sports bra. This is entirely different from the bra you wear regularly. You will notice that the fabric is different: it’s breathable and stretchable. Also, it provides more support, so you can perform work out routines more comfortably.
Almost everyone who goes to the gym wears the tried and tested tee. It doesn’t matter which color, print or brand you wear. The most important thing is your comfort. Something too baggy might get caught in the equipment you’re using. Something too tight will restrict your movements. Go for something that fits just right.
Instead of wearing jogging pants, go for a pair of shorts. If possible, go for those made of stretchable and breathable fabric. As with the upper garment, choose a pair which fits properly. You may also go for leggings if you want something longer than regular shorts.
Buy yourself a durable pair of footwear. Always go for function and comfort. There’s a reason why no one really wears leather brown boots to the gym. When you wear the right pair of shoes, you can perform your routines better, as well as ward of injuries. If you got no idea which best to buy, ask your personal trainer for a recommendation.
You may also wear a wrist watch to the gym, especially if you need to stick to a certain schedule. A sports watch will be great, as it’s not going to be damaged by sweat or water. A leather watch is simply not designed for working out. Besides, just imagine how stinky the strap will be by the time you step out of the gym.
Try not to put on make up for the gym. By the end of your session, your make up will end up all over your face and clothes. And potentially on some of the gym equipment too! The same is true with any other beauty product you apply on the face. Imagine how your eyes will end up red and stinging should sweat and, say, lancome eye cream get into them.
When you’re dressed correctly for the gym, you will see that you can perform your work out routines better. Always go for comfort and function. Focus on being in shape while inside the gym. You can always go back to looking trendy after you’re through with working out.
